Sassoon Dock

 Sassoon Dock was built in 1875 on reclaimed land, by the banking and mercantile company – David Sassoon & Co. The docks were owned by Albert Abdullah David Sassoon (1818–1896), son of David Sassoon. It is one of the oldest docks situated just off Cuffe Parade in South Mumbai, and one of the few docks in the city open to the public. It is one of largest fish markets in the city. It was the first commercial wet dock in Western India and helped establish the cotton trade.

Peddar Road

Pedder Road (officially Dr. G. Deshmukh Marg) was named after WG Pedder, Municipal Commissioner (1879). Pedder Road is said to be resting on what was first known as Padam Hill. Its present name is Gopalrao Deshmukh Marg. The very first flyover built in Mumbai connected Hughes Road to Pedder Road at Kemp’s Corner.
