CRICKET

Mumbai Indians Beat Sunrisers Hyderabad: Excellent batting performances from Parthiv Patel (39), Nitish Rana (45) and Krunal Pandya (37) helped Mumbai Indians win by 4 wickets against rivals SRH. SRH notched up 158-8 in 20 overs. Skipper David Warner top scored with 49 while opening partner Shikhar Dhawan managed 48. Strike bowler for team MI, Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets. Mumbai cruised to victory at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai achieving their target in 18.4 overs with Jasprit Bumrah awarded Man of the Match.

 

Sanju Samson’s Century Helps Delhi Win: A century from young Sanju Samson (102) helped Delhi Daredevils clinch a massive 97 run victory over Rising Pune Supergiant. Batting first, Delhi notched up 205-4 in 20 overs. With Sanju, Rishabh Pant amassed 31 before being run out by Mayank Agarwal while Chris Morris played well with 38 runs in 9 balls. Amongst the RPS bowlers, Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir and Adam Zampa picked 1 wicket each. In reply, the Pune team were out for a mere 108 in 16.1. Skipper Zaheer Khan was the pick of the bowlers scalping 3-20 in 3 overs. Sanju Samson grabbed Man of the Match award.

 

FOOTBALL

Premier League Results: On 8th April, Tottenham Hotspur won 4-0 with Watford, Manchester City beat rivals Hull City 3-1. Liverpool outplayed opponents Stoke City 2-1, while Southampton emerged victorious 1-0 playing V/s West Bromwich Albion. West Ham United played well and beat Swansea City 1-0, while Chelsea won 3-1 playing V/s AFC Bournemouth. On the following day, Everton played outstandingly well and defeated Leicester City 4-2, while Manchester United overpowered Sunderland with a 3-0 win. Further on 10th April, Crystal place won 3-0 V/s Arsenal.

 

SQUASH

Harinder Pal, Velavan Enter Semi Finals Of Parkview Open: Indian players, Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu and Velavan Senthilkumar have advanced to the semi-final stage of the ‘Parkview Open 2017 Squash Tournament’ in Johannesburg. Harinder beat South Africa’s Gareth Naidoo 11-7, 11-7, 11-5, while Velavan defeated Aqeel Rehman of Austria 11-3, 11-1, 11-5, in just 31 minutes.

 

BADMINTON

PV Sindhu Advances To Second Round, Singapore Open: After winning her maiden ‘India Open Super Series’ title earlier, Olympic Silver Medallist and Star Shuttler, PV Sindhu won 10-21, 21-15, 22-20 in the opening round of the women’s singles match. She faces Fitriani of Indonesia, in the next round.
