Nisaba Godrej To Head GCPL Post Adi Godrej
Nisaba Godrej will now be heading Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (GCPL) as the Executive Chairperson, after her father, Adi Godrej, stepped down from the said post. Adi Godrej decided to nominate his daughter for the post with effect from 10th May, 2017. He will continue to be the Chairman Emeritus.
Staying true to the family’s legacy, Nisaba’s selection as the Executive Chairperson of GCPL, comes months after Pirojsha Godrej replaced his father as the Executive Chairman of Godrej Properties, while Adi Godrej’s elder daughter, Tanya Dubash, is the Executive Director and Chief Brand Officer at Godrej Group. “The foundations of GCPL are extremely strong. This is an opportune time to transition to a new Chairperson, who will lead the company in its next phase of growth. Over the last decade, I have worked closely with her (Nisaba) and seen her deliver tremendous results,” Adi Godrej was quoted as saying.
Nisaba Adi Godrej, fondly known as Nisa, acquired her primary education from The Cathedral and John Connon School and completed her Bachelor of Science (BSc) from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School, and has been a part of the GCPL board since 2011. Being the brain behind Project Leapfrog in 2007, Nisaba played a major role in boosting Godrej’s growth in the domestic as well as international markets thus expanding in UK, Indonesia, Latin America and Africa. Nisa has supervised various projects in innovation, strategy and HR for Godrej Industries and its associate companies.
