Monaz Gandhi Bags Two ‘Harvey Excellence Awards’

Continuing the coverage on Monaz Gandhi, PT has learnt that the brilliant pre-school teacher at the ‘Learning Curve’, Worli, has recently gone on to win two more awards – ‘The Harvey Youngest Achiever 2017-2018’ and ‘The Harvey Most Valuable Indian 2017-2018’ awards, at The Harvey Excellence Awards hosted in London, on 27th September, 2017.

Recognised for her historical innovation- ‘MONTEA’- India’s first humanoid teaching robot, the SystemX Research Centre, Bengaluru proposed the same to The Harvey Awards Council, London, UK, with various performance reports, videos and documents. MONTEA was then put through a series of tests where it answered technical questions of each subject asked by the audience to the point and very rapidly showed his dance skills, karate skills, cricket skills, badminton skills and much more.

Dr. Harvey Weber, Chairman and Co-Founder of The Harvey Excellence Council said, “We have no words for what we saw before thirty minutes with the display of MONTEA. I can just say, that Monaz Gandhi deserves to be the youngest achiever and for decades to come, she will be remembered as the creator of the first ‘Indian Teaching Robot’ that will be a new companion for children who wish to learn. Just as we have laptops, tablets, mobiles at present where students watch videos and learn, after a few years, students will buy a portable MONTEA to teach them the concepts of theories and practical usage and make learning real fun. Congratulations Ms. Monaz! We are proud that we witnessed your creation on this great stage and we wish you a successful career ahead with MONTEA and other projects in your line-up.”

Speaking to Parsi Times, Monaz said, “I am thankful to Harvey Excellence Council for choosing me as the right candidate for the awards and honouring my work. I feel proud to accept these trophies and I am the happiest person in this world to hold them in my hands. I thank my mom, dad and brother without whom the journey to this point would not have been possible at all. I thank my school, Ava Bai Petit Girls High School for providing me quality education because of which I am standing on this stage, and all those who motivated me in creating this project.”
