Cama Park Holds 2nd All Parsees TT Tourney

The Cama Park Welfare Association, Andheri, held the second edition of the All Parsees Table Tennis Tournament at the Cama Athornan premises, on 3rd and 4th February, 2018, with participants aged 8 to 76 years, pouring in large numbers from Mumbai, Thane, Navsari and Surat. The competitors battled it out in various categories, including the Open Singles Finals, where National level TT players, Zubin Taraporewalla and Frenaz Chipia enthralled spectators, with Zubin bagging the trophy eventually. The duo further played in the ‘Open Doubles’ setting their mark in this category too! ‘Parsee Gymkhana A’ team won the Team event, the home team Cama Park were declared Runners-Up. Doyens, Sarosh Shroff and Percy Mehta clashed in the finals of ‘Veterans Singles’, with the former taking the gold. Chief Referee, SY Khedkar along with Suhas Dandekar and team officiated the two-day tournament, while ex-National player and resident of Cama Park, Baji Khambatta along with Er. Khushru Panthaky (Principal of Cama Athornan Institute) and Jamshed Sachinwalla (Chairman – CWA) distributed the prizes. The event concluded with organisers thanking Trustee of Cama Athornan, sponsors – Zoroastrian Co-op Bank Ltd, Strattonite Flooring, Media Partner – Parsi Times, along with CWA volunteers, friends and supporters for a great tournament.
