‘Cusrow Baug’ Champions At 3rd All-Parsis Football Tourney
The Cusrow Baug United Sports and Welfare League concluded its 3rd All Parsis Annual Floodlit Football Tournament, from 15th to 21st January, 2018, with twelve teams from Mumbai participating in the 8-a-side tournament. The first semi-final witnessed team ‘Cusrow Baug-A’ beat ‘Petit Boys’ with 9 goals, thanks to a hat-trick by Cusrow Baug player, Farzaad Dastoor. The second semi-final between teams ‘DPCG B’ and Malcolm Baug, saw the former win by 1 goal.
On the final day, CB’s children aged 3 to 14 years put up an exhibition match, showcasing great talent and encouraging youngsters to pick up the sport. The organisers thanked Cusrow Baug: Kenkre Coaching academy and their parents for supporting this initiative. The finals witnessed a tough match between ‘Cusrow Baug-A’ and ‘DPCG-B’. A brilliant shot by ‘Cusrow Baug-A’ captain, Joshua Dumasia, in the second half, helped the home team grab victory, 2-1. The match was thoroughly enjoyed by the spectators and Chief Guest as well as captain and coach of Adidas Runners Mumbai (India’s and Europe’s largest running community), Ayesha Billimoria. The CBUSWL organisers Rustom Irani, Vispi Shroff, Zubin Jaorewalla and Shahram Mavandadnejad concluded with a vote of thanks.
