A’bad Holds Successful Parsi Matri-Meet

Meet On 27th and 28th October, 2018, Ahmedabad held a Parsi Zarthosti Matrimonial Meet at Hotel Nalanda, which witnessed an overwhelming turnout of over one hundred and ten hopeful participants from not just A’bad, but also from Mumbai, Surat, Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Pune, Navsari and Jamshedpur.

Conceptualized by Ahmedabad Parsi Punchayet Trustee (APP), Kety Daruwalla, and jointly organised by Parsi Youth League of Ahmedabad (PYLA) and Dhanjishaw and Manijeh Gamir Charitable Trust (D&MGCT), the event, which was attended by 31 girls and 80 boys, commenced with convenor Aspy Bharucha welcoming the gathering, followed by attendees introducing themselves and getting acquainted with each other through various ice-breaker games.

In keeping with the Central Government and PARZOR’s efforts to increase the Parsi population through the ‘Jiyo Parsi’ scheme, the matrimonial meet was efficiently coordinated by Pearl Mistry. The first day witnessed fun games and debates that highlighted various apprehensions faced by the boys and girls within our community, with regard to nuptials. Next was a delightful dance and dinner at Kankaria Zorastrian Hall.

The key session for the second day comprised three couples who boasted of 42 years, 31 years and 16 years of a happily married life, share their experiences, and speak about how adjustments are key to marital bliss. The event concluded with Aspi thanking Kety Daruwalla, Jamshed Shroff, Pearl Mistry, Committee members of PYLA – Arize Bokdawala, Hoshedar Daboo, Cyrus Darwalla and Bomi Sethna; and volunteers for making the event a success, and more importantly, noting that two couples who joyfully
confirmed they have found their match and hoped to unite soon!
