Karani Agiary Celebrates 172nd Salgreh

The 172nd Salgreh of Seth Nusserwanji Hirji Karani Agiary’s Atash Padshah was celebrated on 2nd February, 2019, in Cusrow Baug, Colaba, Mumbai. A Havan Geh Machi was conducted in the morning on behalf of the Karani Agiary Trust, followed by a Jashan on behalf of the Trustees of the Karani Agiary, which was conducted by the Panthaky, Er. Yazdi Aibara, Er. Aspandiar Dadachanji and other Mobeds of Karani Agiary.

In the evening, a Huma Anjuman Jashan was conducted by the Mobeds, followed by a Hum Bandagi led by the Panthaky Aibara. Homi Ranina, Trustee of Karani Agiary and Kookadaru Trust, welcomed the Chief Guest of the evening, eminent physician, Dr. Farokh E. Udwadia and introduced the main speaker of the evening, Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastoor, the Head Priest of Iranshah at Udvada.

Vada Dasturji Khurshed gave an insightful talk on ‘Zorastrian Religion and its Relevance’. Next, Chief Guest Dr. Farokh Udwadia spoke on the ‘Zorastrian Way of Life.” Panthaky Er. Yazdi Aibara also spoke on the Atash Padshah Saheb and concluded the evening by thanking the speakers, as also the Trustees of Karani Agiary – Homi Ranina and Bomi Hansotia, for their continuous support. Noshir Bulsara narrated a poem on Atash Padshah, followed by Trustee Bomi Hansotia reciting a verse in Hindi in praise of Dr. Farokh E. Udwadia and thanking the speakers. Er. Yazdi Aibara thanked Mani Vajifdar for her longstanding services to the Karani Agiary, photographers Khurshid and Nazneen Vajifdar, Parsi Times and the Parsi media for covering the function.
