SPY Holds Box Cricket Tourney
The Salsette Parsi Youth (SPY) held the second edition of their All Parsees Box Cricket Tournament (powered by Platinum Corp.) over the 18th and 19th of May, 2019, at the Salsette Parsi Colony. 14 teams, each comprising ‘5 Boys + 1 Girl’, were divided in 4 groups; with top 2 teams from each group qualifying for the quarter finals.
Defending Champions Malcolm Baug; Runners up (1st Edition) Salsette B; Home Favourites Salsette A; and CJ Colony were the top 4 teams of the tournament, getting the better of Bharucha Baug, Behram Baug, Game Changers and Gamadia Colony teams, in their respective quarter finals. While CJ stunned Malcolm Baug in a closely fought semi-final, Salsette B team prevailed over their rivals to enter the finals for the 2nd consecutive time. The finals saw CJ as the champs, who remained unbeaten through the tournament. The winners and runners up team were awarded trophies and cash prizes.
