10th RFP World Council Appoints Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastoor and Homi Gandhi

The 10^th World Assembly of Religions for Peace (RFP), held from 20^th – 23^rd August, 2019, in Lindau, Bavaria, Germany, took place in partnership with the Foundation Peace Dialogue of the World Religions and Civil Society. Over 800 senior religious leaders, youth and women of faith from over 125 countries participated in the Assembly, which celebrated the theme, ‘Caring for our Common Future – Advancing Shared Well-Being’, joined by 100 representatives of governments, intergovernmental organizations and civil society groups to forge multi-stakeholder partnerships for the common good.

The Zoroastrian faith was represented by Jehangir Sarosh from the United Kingdom, Meher Sidhwa, Faith in Action Youth Leader, from India, and Homi D. Gandhi, President, FEZANA. At the conclusion of the 10th World Assembly, RFP issued a Declaration and Homi Gandhi was invited to read a part affirming the UN SDGs. At the RFP World Council meeting, two Zoroastrian faith leaders were appointed on the RFP World Council, namely, Homi D Gandhi as President; and Vada Dasturji of Udavada Iranshah, Khurshed Kaikobad Dastoor as Honorary President.
