LCB Celebrates Teachers Day

Lions Club of Bombay (Host), the premier legacy Lions Club in India and part of the Lions International District 3231A1, continued its tradition of celebrating Teachers Day by honouring distinguished teachers and academicians across diverse backgrounds, on 5th September, 2019, at Jade Gardens, Worli.

President Lion Zubin Billimoria welcomed all and spoke of the indispensable role played by teachers in shaping lives and careers, making it their privilege to recognise and felicitate them for their contributions. Amongst the five teachers who were felicitated, were Padma Shree Meher Banaji – former Principal and current Administrator of the Happy Home and School for the Blind and Diana Marfatia – Principal of the Avabai Petit Girls High School. Others included Meena Mutha (Manav Foundation for Mental Health); Priya Deshpande (SRCC School, City Academy) and Pushpa Bhosle (Head – Sankalp Institute for Deaf and Deaf Mute).

The meeting was also attended by the Region Chairperson of the District, Lion Cyrus Surti and the Zone Chairperson Lion Freny Patel, who briefly addressed the gathering. The meeting concluded with dinner.
