Jehan Daruvala Nominated For Prestigious ARJUNA AWARD By FMSCI

PT is thrilled to report that our very own dynamic Formula 2 Racing Champ – aapro Jehan Daruvala – has been nominated by the Federation of Motor Sport Clubs of India (FMSCI) for the 2021 Arjuna Award – the highest civilian sporting honour awarded by the Government of India for Outstanding Performance in Sports and Games. 

The nomination comes on the back of a fantastic performance by 22-year-old Jehan, who has been representing India on the global stage in the FIA F2 Championship, and bringing great pride to the nation and the community. The Carlin Motorsport driver took his maiden win in F2 last year, while the current season saw Jehan bag several podiums, placing him seventh in the driver standings.  

Sharing his delight, Jehan Daruvala shared, “I’m extremely honoured to be nominated by the FMSCI for the prestigious Arjuna Award.  It has been my pride to represent the country for the last 12 years on a global platform, and I’m humbled that my efforts have been recognised. I hope this inspires the younger generation to pursue their motorsport dreams.”

This is a glorious moment filled with pride for the community and indeed a proud one for Jehan, who has been one of the more popular Indian names on a global Motorsport Scale. Jehan was also awarded the ‘2021 Carandbike Motorsport of the Year’ title earlier this year for his stellar international performance in Formula 2. 

Finishing third overall in the 2019 FIA Formula 3 Championship, Jehan is currently a part of the Red Bull Junior Team and competes in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for the Carlin Racing Team. In 2020, he finished seventh in the Championship, with two podiums and one win to his name. He is currently seventh in the ongoing 2021 championship standings, already with two podium finishes this season. Daruvala also competed in the 2021 F1 Asian Championship, finishing third overall in the standings, with three wins and eight podium finishes. Mumbai-based Jehan is the future frontrunner in bagging a seat in Formula 1, in which so far, only two Indian drivers – Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok – have managed to bag a seat.
