Kudos To Young Rathestars!

With a firm belief in the adage, ‘Happiness to those who help others’, every year, the committee members of ‘Young Rathestars’ of Dadar, Mumbai, reach out to provide help and support to poor Zarthosti families living in the hinterland of Gujarat. Founded in 1942, the NGO – Young Rathestars – has been providing excellent philanthropic service, for over 30 years now, via its consistent Annual Grain Distribution, in the remote villages of Gujarat.

More recently, these good Samaritans carried out their yearly grain distribution exercise in the villages of Dahanu, Gandevi, Nargol and Saronda in Gujarat, where they provided over 50 under-privileged Parsi / Irani Zoroastrian families and humdins with essential items of daily use and consumption, including food-grains, Sadras, towels, etc. Young Rathestars is headed by Chairperson – Arnavaz Jal Mistry, Vice President – Homiyar Doctor, Secretary – Yasmin Mistry and Shiraz Guard who has helped elevate the program to the next level.

Speaking to Parsi Times, Young Rathestars President, Arnavaz Jal Mistry, shared, “It is the aim of Young Rathestars to reach out to and provide basic support to our lesser fortunate community brethren who are cut off from the mainstream, and are residing in the interiors of Gujarat. Things have become even more worse for them since the pandemic and they are undergoing very challenging times. They need our help more than ever and we are blessed to be able to make a small difference in their lives.”

This vibrant group of individuals, committed to serving our community, is already preparing the next leg of its programs, scheduled for distributing of foodgrains, sadras and towels in the interior of other Gujarat villages, including Ankleshwar, Bharuch and Surat.

Those who wish to support the cause, can send in your cheques in favour of: ‘YOUNG RATHESTARS’ to the President, Mrs. Arnavaz Jal Mistry, 802/A – Ekta Invictus, 68 – Dr. Ambedkar Road, Dadar (East), Mumbai 400014.
