ડો. હોમી દારબશાહ દૂધવાલા એસપીપીના નવા પ્રમુખ

સુરત પારસી પંચાયત (એસપીપી) ટ્રસ્ટીઓની બોર્ડ મીટિંગમાં, 18મી ઓક્ટોબર 2022ના રોજ, જમશેદ દોટીવાલાના રાજીનામાને પગલે, વ્યક્તિગત કારણોસર, ત્રણ વર્ષ માટે, ડો. હોમી દારબશાહ દૂધવાલાને સર્વસંમતિથી એસપીપીના પ્રમુખ તરીકે ચૂંટવામાં આવ્યા છે.
એમએસ (જનરલ સર્જરી), ડીએચએ અને એમટી (દિલ્હી) અને એફઆઈસીએસ (શિકાગો) સહિતની ડિગ્રીઓ સાથે ઉચ્ચ લાયકાત ધરાવતા ડો. દૂધવાલાએ નિવૃત્ત થતાં પહેલાં આડત્રીસ વર્ષ સુરત મ્યુનિસિપલ કોર્પોરેશનમાં સેવા આપી હતી અને તેઓ મેડિકલ સુપરિન્ટેન્ડન્ટ અને ડાયરેક્ટર (મેડિકલ એજ્યુકેશન સંશોધન) હતા. એસએમઆઈએમઈઆર મેડિકલ કોલેજ અને એસએમસીની મસ્કતી હોસ્પિટલ ખાતે સર્જરી વિભાગના પ્રોફેસર અને વડા હતા. તેઓ 2017-2018ના 2 વર્ષના સમયગાળા માટે એસએમસીના જાહેર આરોગ્ય વિભાગના સલાહકાર પણ હતા.
તેઓ સૌપ્રથમ 1982માં એસપીપીના ટ્રસ્ટી બન્યા હતા અને વર્ષોથી પારસી સમુદાય માટે તેમની સહાય નોંધપાત્ર રહી છે, જેમાં કોવિડ સમયગાળા દરમિયાન અને દોખ્મેનશિની, પારસીઓની આદરપૂર્વકની અંતિમ વિધિ બાબતમાં પણ તેમના યોગદાનનો સમાવેશ થાય છે, જ્યાં તેમણે સમુદાય વતી લડતનું નેતૃત્વ કર્યું હતું.
