Pezan Vapiwala Wins Another Gold For India In Martial Arts

Parsi Times is delighted to share yet another brilliant win by Pezan Hemin Vapiwala, who secured a gold medal for India, at the International Martial Art Games, 2022, held in Kathmandu, Nepal, on 9th December, 2022, bringing much pride to the community and the country! The 21-year-old Vapi-resident competed at Nepal’s Dasarath Rangsala Sports Complex, against nearly 250 other participants from other countries including India, Nepal, Butan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar.

Speaking to Parsi Times on the occasion, Pezan said, “It feels amazing to win a gold medal for my country. I’m thankful for all the support and love I have received from my parents and my elder brother Jehan, and I’m grateful for all the good wishes and blessings I have received from our community members who reached out. I’m looking forward to achieving much more and working harder than ever to continue making our community and our country proud.”

Earlier last month, PT had reported Pezan winning the gold medal at the global event, ‘World Open Taekwondo Friendship Cup 2022’, held in Mumbai. Having completed his Class XII, Pezan is now focused on making a full-time career in the field of Taekwondo and Martial Arts. He has been training since the age of 13 – where he initially took up learning the art mainly for self-defence. The son of proud parents – Arnavaz and Hemin Vapiwala, and younger sibling of doting brother Jehan – Pezan also won the Gujarat State Karate Championship in 2020.
