CRICKET

AUSTRALIA OUTPLAY INDIA TO WIN 4TH ODI

Stellar bowling performances by Kane Richardson (3-58) and Nathan Coulter-Nile (2-56) helped the Australians win the fourth ODI by 21 runs. Opting to bat first, Australia made 334-5 in 50 overs courtesy 124 from David Warner and 94 by Aaron Finch. Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers scalping 4-71 in 10 overs. In reply, India’s Ajinkya Rahane contributed 53 while Rohit Sharma scored 65. Kedar Jadhav made 67, but India succumbed to the good Aussie bowling, finishing at 313-8 in 50 overs. This is India’s first loss in ODIs since November 2003, though they won the series against the visitors and are 3-1. David Warner won Man of the Match.

 

PRO KABADDI

On 23rd September, 2017, Bengal Warriors beat Bengaluru Bulls 33-29 while Puneri Paltan won 34-29 V/s Dabang Delhi Kabaddi Club (KC). Next day, Tamil Thalaivas overpowered Bengal Warriors 33-32 and Haryana Steelers defeated Dabang Delhi KC42-24. On 26th September, during the inter-zone challenge week, Tamil Thalaivas beat Gujarat Fortune giants 35-34 while Patna Pirates beat Dabang Delhi KC 36-34. Next day, Telugu Titans won 41-34 V/s Jaipur Pink Panthers and UP Yoddha beat Dabang Delhi KC 45-16.

India’s Sourav Kothari overpowered Thailand’s Praprut Chaitanasaku, winning 3-1 in the final and bringing home the gold medal at Asian Indoor Games.

PREMIER LEAGUE RESULTS

On 23rd September, Tottenham Hotspur won against West Ham United 3-2, Everton defeated AFC Bournemouth 2-1, Manchester City won 5-0 against Crystal Palace, Manchester United edged out Southampton 1-0, and Chelsea won 4-0 against Stoke City. On 24th September Brighton and Hove Albion beat Newcastle United 1-0. The following day Arsenal emerged victorious winning 2-0 V/s West Bromwich Albion.
