And WINGS 2017 Begins…

With just five days left for one of our community’s grand fests, ‘WINGS 2017’ is all set to explore the hidden talents within our community’s dynamic members. Media Partner Parsi Times is proud to announce that over 400 individual and team registrations have already been noted for the four day All-Parsis Sports and Cultural fest, which will go on floors at the Rustom Baug grounds. Brainchild of our community’s three enterprising youngsters, Jeyhaan Carnac, Anahita Karanjia and Zaara Dastur, the JAZ Co. (a collaboration of their initials) have been working hard towards making this event a grand success since the last six months. “The Wings journey has taught us so much, that we’ve been honoured, humbled, scared, excited, thrilled, exasperated and entertained, all at the same time. For us the whole point of doing an event like this, is to give the community 4 days of ‘Everything’. In this second edition, the events have been tweaked, in an attempt to make things more challenging and exciting and at the same time use this platform as a medium to invite the community to celebrate,” say Jeyhaan, Anahita, Zaara, who have received immense love, support and backing not just from our community’s stalwarts but also from every Zoroastrian at large.

Community Support…

“As a community we Zoroastrians are indeed blessed that we have youth who have the ability to achieve the best, are hungry for achievement, wish to excel and have within them a fantastic mix of belief and knowledge. Zaara, Anahita and Jeyhaan, symbolize these qualities. In WZO Trust’s we believe our youth should be encouraged, motivated and provided tangible support whenever a worthwhile initiative is undertaken. It is our privilege to have been supportive of these enterprising youth in their endeavour last year as also the current.”
– Dinshaw Tamboly, Chairman, WZO Trust.

.

“WAPIZ is happy to affiliate with Wings because it is an event which brings young Parsis together over 4 days and offers a platform to showcase their talent and have a great time. Usually most All Parsi events are restricted to inter Baug competitions, but Wings is different! It’s open and encourages Parsis from all over to participate. Also what makes Wings special is that is it conceptualized and organized by 3 young dynamic Parsis, barely out of school, who are aware of what the youth want and enjoy. What really impressed us was the enthusiasm, professionalism and confidence of the core team to organize a mega event such as this.”
– Anahita Desai, CEO, WAPIZ

.

“It’s always a delight to be associated with any good event that our Zoroastrian youth organise which binds the community and enhances the bonding, such as ‘Wings’. It’s an even greater delight when most of the organisers of Wings are ex HPYites, as it reaffirms the fact that HPY is a good training ground”
– Diana Marfatia, Mentor, HPY

.

“WINGS is an amazing idea, developed by a never heard before trio of teenagers, and born just a year ago. WINGS is a stupendous effort of the youth, by the youth and for the youth, working towards bringing out the best in. Hats off youngsters! You have pulled of the almost impossible… You never fail to astonish us.”
– Er. Dr. Ramiyar Karanjia

.

“You have the wings, now we give you the opportunity to take flight. A sports and cultural fiesta like none other, Wings 2017 is going to be bigger and better than before with pleasant surprises along the way!”
– Hormuz Ragina, Host For Wings’17

.

“We have been associated with WINGS from the very first year of its inception. The approach of these kids is very positive and pure, thereby providing a platform for the youth to showcase their talent in sports and culture. My sons Aarish, Rehan and I are really happy to provide technical support and be a part of this event.”
– Sarosh Daruwalla, Head of Production for Wings’17
