Gala Evening At Bharucha Baug

The Bharucha Baug Residents Welfare Association (BBRWA) organised a grand function to commemorate 70 years of the BPP signing Trust Deed with Sir Shapurji Bharucha Baug, and 25 years of occupation of Bharucha Baug’s multi-storey building on 4th November, 2017, with a jasan ceremony performed by Er. Arzin Katila, Er. Pirojsha Sidhwa, Er. Pourush Panthaky and Er. Husrav Sukhia at 4:30pm. Host for the evening, Hutoxi Aibara welcomed the gathering, followed by the visually challenged members of Udaan performing a musical extravaganza that enthralled the audience. Shiruy Daver’s presentation of the history of Bharucha Baug took the residents on a journey down memory lane. Committee member, Bahadur Avari introduced Chief Guests, Homai Daruwalla- Chairperson of Zoroastrian Bank and BPP Chairman, Yazdi Desai as well as other dignitaries including Anahita Desai, BPP Trustees- Kersi Randeria, Viraf Mehta, Ex-BPP Trustee Arnavaz Mistry, Vada Dasturji of Udvada, Khurshed Dastoor and wife Havovi Dastoor, MLA Ameet Satam and Corporator Mrs. Patel.

Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastoor, Homai Daruwalla and Yazdi Desai addressed the gathering, followed by the release of Bharucha Baug memorabilia. The entertainment for the evening consisted of a Lucky Dip conducted by Vispy Irani and dance performances by the colony children organised by Mehroo Patel and choreographed by Pervin Patel. With Udaan resuming the stage with soulful orchestra, the function which was attended by around seven hundred people, concluded with a vote of thanks to all members of BBRWA, followed by a sumptuous dinner.
