બાલદિનની શરૂઆત કેવી રીતે થઈ?

14મી નવેમ્બરે ચાચા નેહરૂનો જન્મદિન છે. આ દિવસ બાળદિવસના રૂપમાં ઉજવાય છે. પણ બાળદિવસ માત્ર ભારતમાં જ નહી જુદા-જુદા તારીખોમાં ઉજવાય છે. જાણો કેવી રીતે થઈ શરૂઆત.

ભારતમાં આ દિવસ સ્વતંત્ર ભારતના પ્રથમ પ્રધાનમંત્રી જવાહર લાલ નેહરૂના જન્મદિવસના અવસર પર ઉજવાય છે. કહેવાય છે કે પંડિત નેહરૂ બાળકોથી ખૂબ પ્રેમ કરતા હતા આથી બાલ દિવસ ઉજવવા માટે એમના જન્મદિવસને પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યો.

1954માં દુનિયામાં બાળ દિવસને માન્યતા મળી. જુદા-જુદા દેશોમાં બાલદિન જુદા જુદા દિવસે ઉજવાય છે.  ઘણા દેશ આ દિવસને આ વાતની યાદ અપાવે છે. 1950થી બાળ સંરક્ષણ દિવસ એટલે 1 જૂન પણ ઘણા દેશોમાં બાળ દિવસના રૂપમાં ઉજવાય છે. આ દિવસ આ વાતની યાદ આપે છે કે બાળકો ખાસ છે બાળકોના સારા ભવિષ્ય માટે એમની મૂળ જરૂરતો અને વળતરની જરૂરતોને ખૂબ ખાસ બનાવું જરૂરી છે. આ દિવસ બાળકોને ઉચિત જીવન આપવાની યાદ અપાવે છે.
