Godavara Agiary Celebrates 192nd Salgreh

The Godavara Gamadia Agiary at Fort celebrated its 192nd Salgreh on 17th December, 2018 with a Hama Anjuman Jashan performed by Er. Firdaus and Er. Rohinton Pavri at 10:00 am. Established in 1826, the Agiary was originally the house of First Baronet, Sir Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy, who donated to the Ervads of Godavara Village who were unable to find employment in other Bombay Agiaries at the time. Godavara Agiary stands as an act of philanthropic benevolence among the other massive donations to society by Sir JJ. The Agiary, under the Bombay Parsi Panchayat, will soon be undergoing repair and renovation work.
