Books and Garage Sale By WSD
Animal welfare NGO, The Welfare of Stray Dogs (WSD), is holding a Books and Garage Sale till 15th January, 2019 as a fund raiser to sustain the organization and continue working towards the welfare of our lesser fortunate Indie breeds that roam the streets. The sale items offered at throw-away prices include books (fiction, non-fiction, self-help, hobbies, children, poetry and new releases at special prices), clothes, crockery, cutlery, paintings, kitchenware, toys, artefacts, glassware, CDs, DVDs; gift items including crystal and glass bowls, lamps and light fixtures, wooden frames for paintings or mirrors, glass and porcelain figurine, silicone cookware; and special items including electric barbecue and grill set, Swiss Military laptop bag, John Deere children’s tractor and trailer that can be driven around, pair of teak arm chairs, carved walnut wood book stands, old wooden pounding bowl with wood pestle, limited edition print by M F Husain from the Our Planet Called Earth series; and musical instruments including a copper bugle, Casio keyboard, Pan Pipes, and a transistor radio.
The proceeds of the Sale will be used to fund various welfare programs and activities for stray dogs including Sterilization and Immunization; Adoption program for abandoned pets and pariahs; On-site First–Aid Program; Education and awareness program in schools, colleges, streets and slums.
WSD has sterilized over 56,500 stray dogs and helped over 1,60,000 thousand more through first-aid, immunization and adoption. WSD spends Rs. 12,00,000/-monthly on the above activities and depends on the largesse of donors to fund these much-needed activities. Do try and make the time to participate and contribute towards the same!
