TechKnow With Tantra: cVIGIL – Vigilance during Elections

During elections, there is a lack of a fast information channel to transmit and track complaints of violation of Model Code of Conduct to the Election Commission. Lack of any documented, untampered, evidence in the form of pictures or videos is a major hurdle in establishing the veracity of a complaint. Delays in reporting violations may provide an easy escape route for candidates who have violated the code. The new cVIGIL app launched by Election Commission of India is expected to fill in all these gaps and create a fast-track complaint reception and redressal system. cVIGIL provides time stamped evidentiary proof of model code of conduct / Expenditure Violation, having live photo/video with auto location data. This app is fairly relied upon by election machinery to navigate to the right spot and take prompt action. If you find any violations – use cVIGIL today!
