Community Appeal By Young Rathestars

Living out the true essence of the illustrious Parsipanu trait of charity with the firm belief in the adage, ‘Happiness to those who help others’, every year, the committed members of ‘Young Rathestars’ of Dadar, Mumbai, reach out to provide help and support to poor Zarthosti families living the hinterland areas of Gujarat and Maharashtra, including the talukas of Mandvi and Mangrol (Surat) as well as around Ankleshwar and in the interiors of Gujarat, such as Ilav, Surali, Zankhvav etc. This annual tradition of charity that has been ongoing for over three decades now, not having missed a single year.

This year too, the Young Rathestars will be conducting their annual Gujarat and Pune grain distribution in March/April 2021, where over 150 under-privileged and financially-disadvantaged Parsi and Irani Zoroastrian families, living in the interior villages of Gujarat (including Gandevi and Nargol) and Pune, will be provided essentials like new sadras, blankets, tea, sugar, pulses, toiletries, towels, napkins etc. and other necessary household items.

Spearheaded by our leading community and social service stalwart, Arnavaz Jal Mistry – President of Young Rathestars, alongisde Vice President Homiyar Doctor; Jt. Secretaries – Shiraz Guard and Firuza Tachakra; and numerous other helpful committee members.

Says Young Rathestars President – Arnavaz Jal Mistry, “I speak for all our committee members when I say that it is our privilege to be able to help our less fortunate brethren. I know that the past year has been especially difficult for them we hope to be able to bring some relief to them as they are really going through a very challenging time. More than any other year, they are facing greater needs this year. I request all my dear community members to practice the true essence of being Parsi and kindly donate to this cause so that we can help our brothers in need. It is never an easy journey going way into the interiors of Gujarat to reach them, but the smiles of gratitude, the happiness and relief and the warm welcome is what makes the long and challenging journey well worth it.”
