Jiyo Parsi Counsellor Pearl Mistry Felicitated By National Council For Minorities

Every year on 8th March, Women’s Day is celebrated across the world. In India, on this day, special recognition is given to the contribution women make to society. The National Commission for Minorities celebrated International Women’s Day 2021 at their office in New Delhi, where eight dynamic women, belonging to minority communities, who had impacted society in different fields like sports, academics, entrepreneurship and social work, were felicitated by the Government of India. They were recognised for rising above difficult situations professionally or personally and in their own ways, setting examples for other women by serving family, community and in turn our nation.

It was a great honour for the entire Jiyo Parsi team as this year Pearl Mistry, pan-India counsellor for the programme, was nominated for the award for Outstanding Contribution to Minorities. The efforts put in by her towards increasing the Parsi minority community were applauded and she was felicitated by Chief Guest, Manoj Tiwari, Member of Parliament. Other dignitaries present included Atif Rashid – Vice Chairman, NCM; A. Dhanlakshmi – Director, NCM; B. Sayyed, Member, Maulana Azad Foundation and  B  Anand – Secretary, NCM; Madhukar Naik – Personal Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs; and Daniel Richards, Joint Secretary, NCM.

The event was a grand success and the Jiyo Parsi team is grateful for the recognition given to their counsellor, Pearl Mistry, as well as for the support extended by the National Commission for Minorities, Government of India.
