A Time Of Immense Pride and Joy For The Community!
Dear Readers,
On behalf of Team PT, I thank you for the overwhelming and encouraging feedback on PT’s feature – ‘Parsi Cricket Pioneers Of 1886 Honoured At Lord’s!’, by Binaisha Surti, published last week, highlighting our fabulous Parsi cricket pioneers honoured at Lord’s, in MCC’s prestigious ‘Lord’s Father Time Wall – Top 100 Greatest Milestones’.
This has indeed been a great moment of pride for us, as India’s very first cricket team – the all-Parsi cricket team – is now formally etched in cricketing history, eternally! Readers were also thrilled to read the heartening and inspiring reactions by our cricketing greats and personalities, many of who also wrote in to PT, commending the article. Due to space constraints, we have been able to share only a couple of mails in our Letters to Editor segment below.
On the heels of such great news, comes more amazing news! We are delighted to share that aapro Formula 2 Racing Champ – Jehan Daruvala, has been nominated for the prestigious 2021 Arjuna Award – the highest civilian honour in sports! (Pg.6) Representing India on the global platform in the FIA F2 Championship, Jehan has brought immense pride to the nation and the community… which seems to be soaking in the ‘Sport’light! Here’s looking to see Jehan felicitated with this well-deserved honour!
As we enter the second half of 2021, let’s reinforce the practice of Covid Appropriate Behaviour and ensure we’re all vaccinated, so that we’re well-equipped in this mega-war to vanquish the virus.
