Winds Of Change
Dear Editor,
On Tuesday the 8th of November, the world’s two largest democracies, India and the US, witnessed unexpected and tumultuous events: PM Modi launched an all-out war on unaccounted wealth by demonetising currency notes of the value of Rs.500 and Rs.1000, and the US citizens voted in an unexpected and possibly a controversial candidate, Rep. Donald Trump as the 45th President of the USA. Both these events have caused a wave of shock and turmoil for different reasons.
Not only has Mr. Modi started his life from humble beginnings, but also his Prime Ministership by calling himself a “Pradhan Sevak” and NOT “Pradhan Mantri” and despite opposition from rival political party’s and some elements from his own party, Mr. Modi, slowly but surely has set out to deliver on his election promises and has put India on the world map. Step by surefooted step, he has moved in the right direction and this bold, well planned and well-timed move will hopefully help reduce the menace of black-money which is a major impediment in making our nation truly great, which it deserves to be. No doubt most of us will face temporary inconveniences but in the long run the country should benefit.
On the other hand, Mr. Trump, born with a silver spoon, surpassed all expectations, and despite lack of media support and a controversial campaign, won the presidency with a comfortable majority. What impact these two events happening around the same time could have on the two great nations, only time will tell.

Great Lagan Special Issue!
Dear Editor,
I would like to congratulate and thank Team Parsi Times for delivering an excellent Lagan Special Issue. My family will be observing two marriages taking place this season – and I absolutely loved sharing the issue with them all. We all thoroughly enjoyed it.
You managed to beautifully capture the spirit of Zoroastrian marriages and all the merriment of the season! The Quiz was taken by all in my family – including those of us that were already married! ‘Band Baja Bawaji’ made us all nostalgic and it was great to see Ruby back with her hilarious Meherbai! I look forward to more such fun specials that bring to life our weekends with positivity and fun.

Kudos! Present BPP Trustees
Dear Editor,
Heartiest congrats to the present BPP’s Trustees led by the Chairman, Shri Yazdi Desai – a well-meaning, sincere and a thorough gentleman at that aided by able and trustworthy lieutenants like Shri Kersi Randeria who have pulled-off a Hat-Trick by already having initiated promptly the process of allotment of flats (as published in Parsi Times of 29-10-16). That too, having overcome all odds / obstacles in the shortest possible time.
Simply incredible. Kudos to these good Samaritans. May their tribe increase. Here is then hoping that the existent healthy trend of serving the community selflessly continues unhampered even in times to come too.

A Poetic Wish!
Dear Editor,
All this mudslinging is
an affair bad.
This should not have been;
it is a matter sad.
Now there are bitter facts
along with fad(s)
Wish this painful incident,
not occurred had .
Things should have been quietly done; without blame.
A blot it is, on this prestigious great name.
Hope tarnish it will not,
their image and fame.
Or it will to the name of Tata and Parsis bring shame.
