Your Way To Homeopathy – II

[otw_shortcode_info_box border_style=”bordered” css_class=”boxed”]Getting to the root of illnesses, Dr. Mukesh Batra presents PT readers an exclusive Two-part series that provides answers to the most frequently asked questions related to Homeopathy[/otw_shortcode_info_box]

.

Q.:  I’m a 41-year-old teacher. I tend to burp excessively. Can this be treated with homeopathy?

Dr. Batra:  Burping could be due to several reasons, the commonest being swallowing of air while eating or drinking hurriedly or by the intake of carbonated drinks. It may also be caused by anti-diabetic drugs and other medical conditions like peptic ulcer, hiatus hernia and bowel disorders. The cause needs to be identified before treating. Avoid eating hurriedly and partake 4-5 small meals. Avoid flatulent foods like cabbage, cauliflower and beans. Regular exercise could help.

.

Q.:  I am a 20-year-old man suffering from depressing hair loss. Please advice.

Dr. Batra:  You seem to be suffering from alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder where your immune system targets your hair follicles and causes hair loss in patches. The nature of this condition is erratic. It may resolve spontaneously, or it can increase rapidly and may involve the entire scalp and also body hair over time. Homeopathy actually helps to slow down the progression of bald patches and fills them up with new hair. Please consult a professional homeopath in your city to get an appropriate treatment.

.

Q.:  My wife (age 27) suffers from excessive bleeding during her periods, most often with clots. Please advice.

Dr. Batra:  Excessive bleeding during a woman’s periods (menses) is known as menorrhagia. Your wife would need a pelvic sonography to rule out fibroids, endometriosis, polyps and other conditions. Treatment is often effective, once the cause is found out. Ask her to eat iron-rich foods, like black dates, figs and jaggery to prevent anaemia and/or avoid exerting herself especially during periods.

.

Q.:  My wife who is two months pregnant suffers from severe morning sickness. Please help.

Dr. Batra: Morning sickness is a common complaint during pregnancy. It doesn’t affect the baby unless the weight loss is excessive. A small snack before going to bed and immediately on waking up could be useful. Small, frequent meals would be better than large spaced out meals. Fatty food is best avoided. Eating citrus fruits may reduce the nausea.

.

Q.:  I have small, yet prominent skin patches (dermatitis, or eczema) that itch badly and ooze a transparent and sticky fluid. Could you kindly suggest a homeopathic remedy?

Dr. Batra:  Eczema is skin allergy triggered by a host of factors. Most eczema outbreaks are a result of emotional stress. Constitutional homeopathic treatment is best suited for such cases, so that every intricate detail about symptoms, predisposition, and flare-up or relieving factors are taken into consideration for the selection of the most suitable homeopathic remedy. Also, if you have dry skin, you’d use natural moisturizers like petroleum jelly, or olive oil.
