Dear Readers,

What better way to start your weekend than getting into the groove of love – the most powerful of all emotions – especially with Valentine’s Day round the corner! PT is delighted to indulge your senses in just that with our Valentine’s Day gift to you – our Valentine’s Day Special issue, dedicated to all our readers!

But first, I must thank all who sent in a record number of entries for our Valentine’s Day Contest. You’ve left us touched, inspired as well as in splits, with entries dedicated to loving relationships between humans and pets, as well as some really quirky ones proclaiming undying love to the Parsi Poro, guitars, dhansak and so on! Unfortunately, we are able to print only a fraction of the entries in addition to our winning entries, but here’s a big round of applause to every participant – we sure are a talented lot! Congratulations to all, thank you once again for your continued patronage.

Our Valentine’s Day Special brings you super reads by our brilliant writers like Noshir Dadrawala, Dara Khodaiji and Ruby. A special thanks to the great theatre thespian, Bomi Dotiwala for sharing his heart with our readers. PT is thrilled to have entertainer extraordinaire, the extremely talented Hormuz Ragina, infuse his punning dynamism in PT, starting out with the brand new column, ‘The PT PUNdit’!

Love is truly magical – it takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within! They say the only thing we never get enough of is love, and the only thing we can never give enough of, is also love. So maybe this valentine, let your gifts be a labour of love from the heart and not your wallet, since all else touches the recipient of your gifts only skin-deep and has an ungratefully short shelf-life. And while you’re sharing all that love with your dear ones, don’t forget to love yourself – which is probably one of the most difficult of all things to do. But here’s a clue, in the words of the great poet and philosopher, Rumi, with, “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
