Rajasthan Royals Appoint Ish Sodhi: Indian Premier League franchise; Rajasthan Royals; have appointed New Zealand leg-spinner; Ish Sodhi; as their Spin Consultant for this year’s 2020 edition. Sodhi was part of their squad in 2018 and 2019 before being released; ahead of last month’s IPL auction. He will work closely with bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule and CEO Jake Lush McCrum. Sodhi has played 40 T20s; 17 Test Matches and 31 ODIs for the Kiwis.

Premier League Results: On 28th December; 2019; Brighton and Hove Albion won 2-0 V/s AFC Bournemouth; Everton beat Newcastle United 2-1; Southampton and Crystal Palace were involved in a 1-1 draw; Watford grabbed a 3-0 victory playing V/s Aston Villa; Norwich City and Tottenham Hotspur also drew their encounter 2-2; Leicester City won 2-1 against West Ham United while Manchester United beat Burnley 2-0. The following day saw Chelsea win 2-1 V/s Arsenal; Liverpool beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 while Manchester City won 2-0 V/s Sheffield United. 1st January, 2020 saw Brighton and Hove Albion and Chelsea draw 1-1; Aston Villa overpowered Burnley 2-1; Leicester City beat Newcastle United 3-0; Southampton defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0; Watford won 2-1 V/s Wolverhampton Wanderers; Manchester City beat Everton 2-1; West Ham United thrashed AFC Bournemouth 4-0 and Arsenal beat Manchester United 2-0.

BASKETBALL

NBA: Clippers Beat Lakers: All-star Kawhi Leonard helped the Los Angeles Clippers come from behind and beat city rivals Los Angeles Lakers 111-106 victory. Leonard had 35 points and 12 rebounds to his credit.

 

TENNIS

Venus Williams Pulls Out Of Brisbane International: Venus Williams pulled out of the season opening Brisbane International, after a setback during practice. The American tennis star stated that she still hoped to play at the Adelaide International later this month, ahead of the Australian Open – the first grand slam of the year.
