Tata Group’s Vistara Airline To Fly Govt. Doctors, Nurses Free Across India

Tata group-owned airline – Vistara – has offered help to government organizations and hospitals in immediate need of air logistics. The airline has also offered to fly doctors and nurses, representing government organizations, free of cost, across its domestic network, thus boosting the national effort to cope against the surge in fresh COVID-19 cases.

In its communique to Usha Padhee, Joint Secretary – Union Ministry of Civil Aviation, Vistara offered its support to help Government organisations/hospitals in immediate need of air logistics. The airline said that it welcomes requests from accredited organisations representing the Central and State Governments/Union Territories. “We will evaluate these to extend as much support as possible, based on the availability of cargo space,” it stated.

“We are also happy to fly doctors and nurses representing government organisations, free of cost, across our domestic network, and also fly them back on the conclusion of their service,” it added, also sharing that due to the limited availability of seats, it would accommodate the medical professionals on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The Hardeep Singh Puri-led Ministry responded to the letter by commending the generous offer by the airline and exuded, “Let’s fight this pandemic together!”
