Here’s To Good Times Ahead!

Dear Readers,

With the countdown to our Parsi New Year on way, there’s indeed much excitement and festivity to look forward to, as we joyfully prep up our homes and our hearts, to welcome it all… starting with the ten sacrosanct Muktad days, which commence today. Blessed are the faithful who pray devotedly during these days, and blessed also are those who can’t or wont… as long as they remain faithful to the Zoroastrian path of Good Words, Good Thoughts and Good Deeds.

For both – the believers and the non-believers, there is much to be grateful for – for the gift of today, for the gift of life, for the gift of the ability to celebrate life today… as we close in on our much-awaited farewell to the Covid nightmare.

There’s new clothes, new shoes, new hairdos, gifts, get-togethers with family and friends; and the Parsi pinnacle of it all – the amazing feast that awaits us! But what would make it all even more spirited, would be to lace the auspicious occasion with kindness by delivering that unique Parsi attribute of giving to the less fortunate and less privileged community members… doing our bit to also give them reason to smile and partake some of that joy and excitement.

And speaking of joy and excitement, ensure to get your hands on our Parsi New Year Bumper Special Issue next weekend! As always, it promises to further the mood to welcome the New Year, celebrating the theme of Compassion. Our array of brilliant writers and features will make you smile, laugh, reflect and of course, feel much gratitude for belonging to this glorious community!

Here’s looking forward to all things fun and compassionate! Here’s to good times ahead!

Have a good weekend!

– Anahita

Now, as…

Are We Doing Enough For Our Seniors? Dear Readers, As a community, we are blessed with a particularly large ratio of seniors, as compared to other communities. ‘Fraud’ian Slip! As Indians, we are painstakingly used to the word, ‘Fraud’. Heck, not only are we used to it, but are subconsciously getting trained to even calibrate our reactions with increasing leeway – for example, it’s not a ‘decent enough’ fraud to make us raise our eyebrows if it hasn’t run into thousands of…

Dear Readers, Across all religions, and especially for smaller communities like ours, priests play an extremely vital role in nurturing and providing guidance to the spiritual and moral growth and wellbeing of both – the community as well as its individual members. Priesthood is a noble and an essential calling; the world needs…

Dear Readers, As we head towards commemorating India’s seventy-third Independence Day, history has been made with the present day government scrapping Article 370, revoking Special Status to Jammu and Kashmir and passing the J&K Reorganisation Bill 2019, paving the way for the division into two Union Territories — Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. The reactions,…
