Carrom Tourney At Panthaky Baug

Panthaky Baug Welfare Centre (PWC) organised a Carrom Tournament from 25 – 27 January, 2018, with competitions ranging across six categories. Organisers Ruzbey Irani, Zubin Elavia, Zubin Sodawaterwala, Monaz Siganporia and Eric Lath brought in new Surco carrom boards and equipment and added to the excitement with the ‘Doubles-By-Lots’ held on the last day, having partners shuffle randomly after each round until the finals! With around 200 entries and over a 100 matches played across all categories, the tourney concluded with an impromptu announcement of cash prizes awarded to two talented – Vihaan Singporewala and Aisha Lath who played even better than the adults in the open category.

Winner include Khushmeher Sodawaterwala (Ladies Singles); Eric J Lath (Open Singles); Viraf Katrak (Veterans Singles); Vihaan Singporewala (Juniors Singles); Eric Lath & Ruzbey Irani (Open Doubles); Firuzi Zaiwala & Marzee Kerawala (Mixed Doubles); Ruzbey Irani & Marzee Kerawala (Doubles By Lots); Vihaan Singporewala (Upcoming Talent – Boys); and Aisha Lath (Upcoming Talent – Girls).
