Hiccups and Hurrahs!

Dear Readers,

Life is a great leveler. It is the natural, cyclical order of all things – the sun does shine after the rains, as the rains return to eclipse the sunshine, and so on. Our community has been distraught over an issue that has eclipsed our sheen as the fun-loving and happy Parsis that we are known as and loved. Even as the failure of our legal recourses with regard to the MMRCL case has weighed down heavily on most of us, this week seems to have brought in some relief to the gloom. Some Hiccups, some Hurrahs. Parsi Times, as always, is at the forefront of bringing you the latest, authentic news, and this week truly marks the Parsi Pride week, with delightful news coming in from various fronts of community members achieving greatness and doing our Community very proud on a national and global level.

While Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla was felicitated with the prestigious ‘Vaccine Hero’ award, Delnaz made not just the community but also our country and the continent proud by winning the ‘Mrs. Universe Brilliant Performance’ representing Asia as ‘Mrs. Asia Universe’ at the ‘Mrs. Universe 2018 Pageant’; the lovely Zerbanoo Gifford became the very first Zoroastrian to enter the Hon’ble Society of Knights of Round Table in the UK; the globally revered Dr. Farokh Master was bestowed the ‘Pioneer Of Homeopathy’ title; ZTFI’s dynamic Trustee Yasmin Mistry was bestowed a Doctorate in recognition of the great Community service rendered by ZTFI… and even our young achievers Miron Shroff and Nekzaad Olpadwalla brought joy! Read all this and more in this issue of your favorite news weekly!

One of the greatest philosophers of all times, the great Swami Vivekananda had said, “In a day, when you don’t come across any problems – you can be sure that you are travelling in a wrong path.” And insomuch, maybe the hiccups are the levelers we need to reflect and course-correct, and moreso, help us appreciate and put in that extra cheer in our ‘Hurrahs!’
Have a lovely weekend!
