IPL 2019: Mumbai Indians Beat RCB By 6 Runs: MI’s strike bowler and Man of the Match, Jasprit Bumrah’s spell of 3-20 in four overs, with Rohit Sharma’s 48 off 33 ensured Mumbai Indians (MI) victory by six runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Batting first, MI garnered 187-8 in 20 overs. Along with Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav contributed 38 and Hardik Pandya played a good knock during the latter part of the contest adding on 32 in just 14 deliveries. For RCB, Yuzvendra Chahal grabbed (4-38) in four overs. In reply, RCB managed only 181-5. AB de Villiers scored 70 off 41 deliveries while Virat Kohli made 46.
IPL 2019: Andre Russell Stars In KKR’s Victory: Exceptional batting by Robin Uthappa (67*), Nitish Rana (63) and Man of The Match Andre Russell helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) overpower Kings X1 Punjab (KXIP), winning by 28 runs at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Batting first, KKR made 218-4 in 20 overs. Robin’s 67 not out came off just 50 deliveries. Nitish struck 63 in just 34 balls with seven huge sixes out of the park while Russell added the finishing touches with a 17 ball 48 exceptional knock with three boundaries and five monster sixes. For KXIP, Mohammed Shami, Varun Chakravarthy, Hardus Viljoen and Andrew Tye picked one wicket each. In reply, the Kings could manage only 190-4 in their allotted 20 overs. Though Mayank Agarwal scored a good 58 and in the end David Miller and Mandeep Singh remained unbeaten on scores of 59 and 33 respectively, the Punjab team were unable to cross the winning line. Andre Russell once again proved to be the stand out performer with the ball, snaring (2-21) in his three overs.

India Wins SAFF Women’s Championship: In a high intensity summit clash, India lifted their fifth straight title in Biratnagar, beating Nepal 3-1 in the finale, thanks to goals from Dalima Chhibber, Grace Dangmei and substitute player Anju Tamang. This win extends India’s unbeaten run in the tournament’s history to 23 games!

India In Azlan Shah Cup Finals: Striker Mandeep Singh’s brilliant hat-trick helped India outplay opponents Canada 7-3 to seal a summit clash berth against Korea in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament in Malaysia. Varun Kumar gave India the initial lead; Mandeep scored three quick fire goals, followed by Amit Rohidas and Vivek Prasad, and Nilakanta Sharma scored the winner in the 57th minute of the high scoring clash. In the other semi-final, Korea defeated hosts Malaysia 2-1 to get into the final.
