XYZ Tours Delhi-Agra

XYZ Delhi-Agra tour, in partnership with Spenta Tours, from 26th – 30th October, 2019, turned out to be a fantabulous experience flavored with camaraderie and garnished with gastronomical delights for all the 29 participants. Organised by XYZ Founder – Hoshaang Gotla, Delnaz Sinor (XYZ) and Hoshang Jalejar (Spenta Tours), the itinerary included a guided tour of all prominent historical landmarks and monuments and an experience of the local food fare and shopping in the famed Delhi street markets.

Day 1 included a visit to the Lotus Temple, a Baha’i House of Worship and Humayun’s Tomb, where one learnt about a Parsi connection – Sir Dorabji Tata Trust had co-funded the restoration work here during 2007-2013 in association with The Archaeological Survey of India. The day concluded with a fun evening organised by the Delhi Parsi Anjuman where the visitors mingled and played games met over 100 Parsis from Delhi – NCR. The highlight of Day 2 was visiting one of the seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal in Agra, followed by visits to the historic Agra Fort concluding with a delicious Diwali dinner. Day 3 included visiting the Jama Masjid, the Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, Rajghat to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation – Mahatma Gandhi and India Gate. Day 4 saw the visitors at the 800-year-old Qutub Minar, Safdarjung’s tomb, Bengali Market and Sarojini Nagar market, ending with two birthday celebrations and the fun game of dumb charades. Day 5 marked the end of the trip with a scenic drive through Shanti Path in the diplomatic enclave of Chanakyapuri, and Dilli Haat’s fab handicrafts.

A perfectly organised trip which was as entertaining as it was enlightening – Mumbai’s XYZ tots were delighted to meet and make new bawaji friends. Having made lifelong memories, in the words of 7-year-old XYZ member, Taronish Tarapore, “Hali mali ne paccha chaalo Delhi with XYZ!”
