‘She Believed She Could, So She Did!’

Dear Readers,

It is rightly said that women are the real architects of society, cultures and even nations. A woman is the timeless symbolism of love, tenderness and beauty, but this should not be misconstrued as weakness… those who have, often end up learning the hard way, of her equal capacity for wrath and destruction. Simultaneously encapsulating grit and grace, a woman is the unstoppable, enduring life-force that has been revered and deified across civilizations, since time immemorial.

Maybe it is this overpowering reality about women that led to her suppression and abuse, by the insecure and the diffident, all through history. She was made to feel as the flawed, powerless and inferior gender – ever vulnerable and in need of protection by ‘the man’ – across numerous fraternities, the world over. Luckily, for our Parsi/Irani womenfolk, we were born into a progressive culture where women were treated at par (or more!) with men; we didn’t need to fight our own clan to break those glass ceilings. Which is why, so many Parsi/Irani Zoroastrian women today, are known for their unparalleled contributions and outstanding accomplishments, in all arenas, nationally and globally. Others weren’t as lucky as us, but then, not even the devil can keep down a strong woman for too long!

International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8th every year, is the celebration of her feminine force and her unswerving spirit – a day meant to remind us that a woman’s essence deserves to be honored and cherished every day of the year!

Happy Women’s Day to all the fabulous women!

Have a lovely weekend!

– Anahita
