Memory Improvement Tools

Memory is the cabinet of imagination, the treasury of reason and the registry of conscience. However, we need to polish this vital aspect of life, for which we use Memory Improvement Tools. Memory is more than recalling information for exams or for getting good grades. It is a crucial life skill. Your ability to remember is always a big advantage, as such people are seen as knowledgeable, smart, competent and dependable.

‘Mnemonics’ is a technique to remember information that is otherwise quite difficult to recall. The idea behind using mnemonics is to encode difficult-to-remember information in a way that is much easier to remember. Our brains evolved to code and interpret complex stimuli such as images, colours, structures, sounds, smells, tastes, touch, positions, emotions and language. We use these to make sophisticated models of the world we live in. Our memories store all of these very effectively.

The key idea is that by coding information using vivid mental images, you can reliably code both – information and the structure of information. And because the images are vivid, they are easy to recall when you need them. The story technique is also a very important Memory Development Tool. It links all the images together into a story. This helps to keep events in a Logical order and can improve your ability to remember information if you forget the sequence of images.
One very important Memory Improvement Tool is a healthy mind and body. You can’t expect your brain to function at its best if you don’t take care of the body that feeds it. Here are some key issues that you need to adhere always:

Eat well: Make sure key vitamins are in your diet, including folic acid, vitamin B12, and antioxidants. These improve the sharpness of the mind.

Drink plenty of water: Most of us are dehydrated and don’t even know it. When you don’t drink enough water, your body and mind become weak and tired. Water makes red blood cells more active and gives you more energy. This is very important and essential.

Get enough sleep: During sleep, your brain recharges itself. Studies have shown that your brain needs sleep to change new memories into long-term memories.

Manage stress effectively: Ongoing stress has many harmful health effects. Learn to limit and control the stress in your life. Stress can never be avoided in modern day life but you can surely combat it and win over the tough situation.

Engage yourself in physical activity: Playing sports or jogging or power yoga helps you physically and mentally.
