Portugal Wins UEFA Nations League: Hosts Portugal grabbed their second trophy in three years defeating the Netherlands 1-0 in Porto to win the inaugural Nations League. The victory was thanks to a goal from winger Goncalo Guedes. This makes Portugal the first European nation to host and win a final since 1998 World Cup (France).

Rafa Rules French Open: Spanish top seed Rafael Nadal beat his Austrian counterpart Dominic Thiem – 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 – in the finals to grab his third straight win at Roland Garros. With this win, Rafa owns 18 Grand Slam titles!

World Cup 2019: Australia Thrashes Pakistan: Superb batting by Man of the Match David Warner (107) coupled with a blistering knock from skipper Aaron Finch (82) ensured a 41-run victory for defending champions Australia against Pakistan at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, England. Batting first, Aus garnered 307 in 49 overs. En route his century, Warner struck 11 fours and 1 six while partner Finch smashed 6 boundaries and 4 sixes, stitching together a 146-run partnership. Pakistan’s Mohammad Amir snapped up a five wicket haul (5-30) in 10 overs while Shaheen Afridi picked two. In reply, Pakistan were unable to chase the total finishing at 266 in 45.4 overs. Imam-ul-Haq top-scored with 53. Pat Cummins picked 3-33.
